The recent completion of the Chrysler-Fiat marriage is a good example of why America is being sold off bit by bit which will contribute to more future decay. The recent sale of one of America's icons, the Waldorf-Astoria, is evidence of many underlying problems. What are the reasons for these and a plethora of other examples and can the trend be reversed? In this blog, we will attempt to address these issues and search for answers to end THE SELL-OFF OF AMERICA.
GREED
Companies place top priority on executive pay and profits. Governments place control above all other considerations. Gone are the days when consumers' needs and wants take priority. The larger government becomes, the more waste is created. All of this has an adverse effect on citizens and creates costs which could be avoided if common sense prevailed. Common sense is not a part of the equation in government or business. We as citizens and consumers have little power to overcome this. We cannot own stock in all companies and our vote to reverse governmental policies has little effect in the overall picture.
